Saraswati Puja Talent Search: বসন্তে বাঙালিয়ানা

Spring is the season that decors nature with colorful flowers and humans rediscover the powerful color within - Love.

Spring is called "Bosonto" in Bengali when the very first celebration is Saraswati Puja on the day of "Bosanto Ponchami" and Bengalis dress especially for the occasion. The video below showcases specially designed outfits by Bengal's famous store for designer clothing - Keya Seth.

The Tagore song in the video প্রেমের জোয়ারে ভাসাবে দোঁহারে means- "Let's get drenched in the stormy waves of Love and never look back again..."

My Goddess Saraswati
By Mili Bagchi

In my deepest invocations,
As my reverend gaze bends at thy feet,
My subdued vacant mind yearns for Sublime rhymes unheard by
The tutored intellect.
I frame my verse by your divine intervention…
As you breathe life into my verse.
An ode is composed
You are cosmic intelligence!
You, the pure thought.
You the phrase.
You the poetry.
What lingers within me is just an emotion(*Bhāva) tears of devotion
flowing each time I inscribe.

*Bhāva (मुख, “mood/state”) refers to “psychological states” devotion to the gods is called bhāva.

Editor's note: "Bhava initiates Bhakti", Devotion that raises the serotonin brain chemistry and creates a good feeling of love and joy. Hinduism mentions "Bhakti Yoga". Prescribed reading: Bhakti Yoga at Vivekananda.net
